The objective of Workplace Training is to increase the proficiency of the Ontario workforce by improving literacy and employee skill levels, and to encourage employers and labour organizations to invest in professional and skills development of their employees and membership. Below are some of the local businesses and organizations we have successfully supported and partnered with:
Training support funds are used to remove barriers to participation in the Literacy and Basic Skills program. Funds support purchasing electronic equipment to assist clients with learning virtually. Funds also support covering transportation and childcare costs.

Work placements can be coordinated with employers when desired, to provide flexible, on-site support. Help improve job specific skills and gain practical experience. Placements have taken place at Safeway, Einar’s and H20toGo.
VALA offers a one day workshop to help improve communication within the workplace.
